Store layout

I finally made my information layout about the SDU classes at Michaels. There was a lot of stuff to get on a 12x12 layout. I have to admit that I scrap lifted the layout design from Kroppin Kari's demo board on the SDU instructors group site. Hers look fantastic. Lucky girl got to use a poster and I only get a 12x12 but I am pretty happy with how it came out. I also added in a few techniques. They are not offered as part of the classes but I think they made the layout a little more interesting. Please be honest about what you think about it. I will have it hanging at the main register at Michaels to advertise the classes.

Scrapping the music layout

I finally did a layout. It is my first in over a week. Some of you may know that I got Scrap Book Design University certified and will start teaching classes at Michaels here in Gastonia this month. Well I have to make example projects to put up in the store that are made from products that they sell. So I decided to make use of my new printer and print some pictures from my 35th birthday last May, and a sketch from Sketchabilities.

The song this week at Scrapping the Music is Home by Daughtry. I went with the line be careful what you wish for. I thought it would be cute because you hear that all the time and the the movies that have come out about messed up wishes like Freaky Friday and 17 again. You get the point. I did the bright bold fun birthday stuff and used black background paper that has foiled skull and cross bones all over it. I think its funny and I like how it came out.

Details:

The background paper is from presses petals punk collection

Birthday paper is American Traditional Designs celebrate-brights

Ribbon is the paper studio

Font is Plantin School book cricut cartridge

Circles are from Accent Essentials cricut cartridge

Phone and MP3 player are from the Paisley cricut cartridge

The number 35 is from Storybook

All the solid paper is recollections Jewel tones

This layout also qualifies for:

Quirky Crafts: ribbon
Pile it on: My favorite things- my phone, mp3 player and birthdays!!!!

Design Dollies color challenge

Oh where Oh where has my mojo gone?
Oh where oh where can it be?

I think it ran away with the spoon. At least I was able to do a card for the Design Dollies color challenge. I also got a new Kodak ESP 3200 series printer for only $47. That is about $20 less then it would have cost me to buy ink for my Epson at Walmart. I love coupons!!! So I was able to use Digi stamps for the first time.

Design Dollies Colors

Details:

I am pretty sure the stamp and the sentiment are both Meljen designs

I used my copics and spicas. The pictures dont do the spicas justice. They are super glittery.

I inked the edges with Memento desert sand

All the paper is scrap. The pink paper has a dark green drawing of leaves.

This card also qualifies for:

Crafty Creations: ice cream and cakes
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge: distress it
