Scrap it with a Song: These are the Moments

This weeks song at scrap it with a song is These are the moments. They used the Sara Evans version but I listened to the Edwin McCain version. I know I am such a rebel. I used the layout from The Pink Elephant this week. I know I am getting in just under the wire and I am not in love with my layout this week. I wanted to go a completely different direction but I would not find the pictures I was looking for any where. I turned this house up side down. But I found these pictures of Tanner in December when we went to Disney World. Tanner wasn't even 2 at the time these were taken. We were all shocked when he walked right up to the Little Einsteins and gave Leo a hug and a kiss. Thank goodness my mom had her camera on her.

Black and White Photo

This week The Pink Elephant's layout challenge is to use a black and white photo. I believe this is Gavin at 2. Ok....I do know it is Gavin I just don't know if he was 2 or 3 in this picture. When you have as many boys as I do all the years tend to run together if you know what I mean...lol.

I used the sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches. I thought that the circles made into Christmas tree ornaments would be perfect. I really like how it came out. I know it is simple but I think it is super sweet.

Details:

The background paper is by provo craft- candy cane wishes

The chipboard is by Cosmo Cricket in a Christmas set I got

Ornaments are cut from Joys of The Season

All other paper is from my stash

Scrap it with a Song: Girls Just Want to Have Fun

This weeks song at Scrap it With a Song is Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper. For those of you who read my post from the last time they did Cyndi Lauper you know I cant stand to listen to her voice. It makes my skin crawl. However...I know all the words to this song by heart because I loved the cheesy 80s film Girls Just Want to Have Fun staring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt. Seeing that I have all boys you would think I would have a little problem with this one, but I knew exactly what line I was going to use from the get go. In fact I kept these pictures specifically in case this song came up. These are of my now 4 year old Tobin. He looked liked a mini me of my hubby for a long time.

I did have a hard time figuring out what I wanted the layout to look like. I ended up going with the sketch from Practical Scrappers. I turned it on its side and add some things and took some away but it started out as the sketch.

Details:

Brown font is from A Childs Year
Blue letters are from my stash
Background paper is My Minds Eye superstar
The yellow star paper is me and Big Ideas value pack from Michaels
I made 2 of the flowers using punches
The rest of the flowers and leaves are making memories

SPCC

I have had the hardest time with this color challenge. I think there is a reason I have all boys, or maybe it is because I have all boys that I have a problem using pink as a predominant color. The colors at SPCC are blush blossom, pretty in pink, creamy caramel. I also used sketch #31 at Inspirational Card Sketches and I made the flower. I love that I am using up all my scraps making these cards.

This card also qualifies for:

Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday: Use a handmade embellishment

UPDATE: This card made top 5 at SPCC

Fathers day card

I haven't made a card in awhile and fathers day and my husbands birthday is coming up this month so I decided to go ahead and get started on them. I used the sketch from ABC Design Blog to make it. My husband is a sports freak so I traded the flowers for sports buttons. Then on the bottom I used heart buttons. I wanted to use one heart for each of our boys and myself but I didn't have enough small hearts.

I would love to give some details on it but the truth is all the paper is from my scrap box. I guess the only thing to tell is the words are from wild card and the buttons are from a Hobby Lobby mixed bag.

This card also qualifies for:
Sew Many Challenges: Fathers day no blue
Frosted Design: Buttons
Design Dollies: A little bit of sporty spice
Picture Perfect Creations: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom

Scrapping the Music: Aerosmith

I found another music scrap challenge site called Scrapping the Music. This week their song is Aerosmith's I don't want to miss a thing. This song is a great scrapping song. There are so many directions to go with it. I went with a picture of my now 4 year old Tobin. I took this picture specifically to start scrapbooking. I wanted one picture of each of my boys sleeping. That was the first layout I ever made. If you go way back to one of my first posts you will see I took it apart and redid it for a challenge.

I decided to hand write some of the lyrics instead of journaling. I got a 6 pack of small gel glitter pens from the dollar spot at Target and I love them!!! I used the brown one. I hope you can see how glittery it is.

I decided to use the sketch from A Crafty Little Place. I am pretty happy with how it came out.

Scrap it with a Song: I Hope You Dance

This weeks song at Scrap It With a Song is I hope you dance by Lee Ann Womack. I wanted to go a completely different way with this song like I do everything else but I kept getting pulled to this picture of Gavin when he was about 7 or 8 months old at Myrtle Beach. I think this picture is amazing of Gavin.

I used this weeks sketch from Sketches {by Tamara}. If you haven't checked her blog out you definitely should. I get a ton of inspiration there.
