I was so excited when I was asked to be a guest designer at Decorate to Celebrate this week. It is a great challenge blog that is dedicated to showing off your decorations for every celebration. This weeks theme is a childs party. I decided to have some fun with this and do a party for a girl. With only boys I dont get to do very much princess stuff so I wanted to make a princess party. For my birthday this year one of my friends got me a Paris Hilton paper pack as a joke. What better way to use her paper then to make a crown and pinwheels...lol. Now remember I only have boys so I used the little ones to size the crown. Then they both wanted their pictures taken wearing it and holding the pinwheels. My two little models in training...lol.

Guest Designer for Scrap it With a Song
I was so excited to be asked to be a guest designer for Scrap it With a Song this week. I love these challenges. This weeks song is Every Little Thing She Does is Magic by the Police. I was able to use a sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches. Head over to SIWAS and give it a try this week. I cant wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Lady Gaga!!!????
Ok...I have to admit I like a few of her songs but Lady Gaga in general creeps me out. Even so this week at scrap it with a song they used Lady Gaga's Just Dance. It ended up working perfectly for these pictures, and i was able to use the sketch at the scrappiest.

Pile it on GDT week 4
I have really enjoyed being a guest designer at Pile it on. The challenges have been so much fun. This week it is circles, circles and more circles. I love how this worked out. I was doing a class demo at Michaels and decided to combine the challenge with the demo and made rosettes for the 4th of July. I have a manager there that I love but she hates scrapbooking. When she saw these she actually said they were cute and ended up using them on her t-shirt display. I LOVE how it came out.

Bliss
My Store Manager at Michaels offered me 2 more stores to teach scrapbooking at (as if I would say no). So Saturday I did demos at both stores. I got paid to sit at a table in the middle of the store and scrap book. I LOVE MY JOB!!!!! When I do this I just take stash and a single pack of pictures so I can be a little bit limited on what I can make. I do like to print off some sketch challenges to take with me and I am able to show people a little bit about making things our own. This one was done with the sketch from sketchy Thursdays. I used mostly my stash for everything.

Pile it on GDT week 3
This week at Pile It On the challenge is Show me some metal. I was thrilled to be able to use all my metal letters and large brads. I know this layout is simple but I really wanted my pictures to be focused on. This was one of the first times Tanner went down (or up) a slide. He kind of did it on his own. He is only about 18 months here and we didn't think he could make it the whole way up.

Sweet Peach Sketch
With everything going on right now I am so thankful that I have scrap booking to help me decompress. I did this layout of Tanner last night. I used the sketch from Sweet Peach Crop Shop Blog. I don't like my hand writing but I am right now having a new understanding of what kids treasure when a parent passes (or in my hubby's case...is passing) so I decided to hand write the journaling instead of printing it out from my computer.

Sketchy Thursday Layout
I love these pictures of Tanner. He had this thing with climbing on the shelf under the bird's cage. Then he would call to me "I hiding Mommy". He always made me giggle when he did it. I used the sketch over at Sketchy Thursday. It is for a 2 pager but I kind of meshed them together into a single page layout. I really like how it came out. I used some stuff from a Little Black Dress monthly kit that I had won. Some K & Comp stickers and sayings. The title letters are from heidi grace ($1.00 at big lots). All the paper is from Totally Boy by My Minds Eye (my new favorite paper pad ever). I love my new desk that hubby made me! I can find everything. I will have to post some pics.
